Dear BCHS Parents:

The purpose of the parents' LANCER BOOSTER CLUB is to support, promote and encourage athletic programs for all of our students.  Through our parent membership fees, concession sales, annual golf outing and other fundraising projects, the LANCER BOOSTER CLUB has made significant contributions to Brookfield Central sports teams.  These contributions include equipment, uniforms, training technology and enhancement of all athletic facilities that can't be funded through the Athletic Director's budget.  All athletes benefit from this volunteer organization.  Last year, we contributed funds toward updating weight equipment which is used by the entire student body, not just athletes.  Each year the Booster Club offers scholarships to two graduating seniors (one male, one female).  Eligibility factors include parental membership in the Booster Club during all of the years the student attends BCHS.  Your membership is important!  Please return the form on the reverse of this letter on registration day.

There is no doubt that we can be proud of our Central athletes' records in conference, regional, sectional and state championship events.  We can also be proud of these Lancer statistics:

*Teams are fielded in 23 sports each year.

*More than 60 teams are involved in these sports during the year.

*There are more than 1,000 BCHS female and male participants on these teams.

*These student athletes were involved in more than 785 different athletic contests last year.

*Not all teams generate funds for the athletic department by charging tickets at the gate. Membership supports all sports including 'no-cut' sports which attract large numbers of student athletes.

In order to continue support of these athletic programs, we are urging all parents to support Lancer student athletes through membership in the LANCER BOOSTER CLUB.  There are three levels of support in which you can participate.

1.  BLUE Family Membership which will include one free entry to a BCHS sporting event per family membership.  This covers students' participation in all sports throughout the school year.

2.  SILVER Family Membership which, in addition to the free entry, will include a 10-event sports activity card which will allow free entry into 10 Central paid sporting events (except WIAA). This card has no expiration date, and can be used for multiple entries at one event or 10 single entries. This sports activity card is also available for $30 at paid sporting events (except WIAA) throughout the year. Some sports included in the package are basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, gymnastics, swimming and wrestling.

3.  GOLD Family Membership which in addition to the free entry and 10-event activity card allowing free entry into 10 Central paid sporting events (except  WIAA) includes a BCHS Lancer insulated blanket.

Please join us.  Every parent is welcome.  It's a great way to network with other parents who have BCHS students of all ages, and it's a great way to support ALL ATHLETES regardless of their level of competition.

Thank you,

Pete Meiklejohn, Lancer Booster Club President

Parents, are you looking way for a to help out at Brookfield Central?  The Booster Club is looking for one or two people to help stock and manage the use of the outdoor concession stand.  This role does not require that you work the stand during the sporting events. The concession stand provides significant revenue for BCHS athletics.  If interested, please email suzy_olson@yahoo.com
