Poetry Outloud
Congratulations to Madeline Bunke who competed at State on Saturday for the Poetry Out Loud competition. She took 1st place and will be representing Wisconsin at the national competition at the end of April. Way to go Maddie!
Photo Club
Photo club will meet today after school in the Mac lab.
Class Council
There will be a Junior class council meeting after school today in the cafeteria about details for prom. Contact any officers with questions.
Tyro
Attention all TYRO staff members - the story list meeting for the April issue of TYRO will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, March 17. One will be available before school at 7:30 in Mrs. Cook's room, and another after school at 3:15 in the library. Be sure to stop by and pick up a story and your TYRO t-shirt!
Stu Co
Attention all student council members: We made a mistake in announcing that we have a meeting hour 1 this week Wednesday. It is actually hour 2 this week Wednesday in the Black Box Theater. Sorry for the error. See you at the meeting. Wear green and you get an extra point if you attend the meeting. Please bring your $10.00 and form for the new Stu co t-shirt. If you need a form, stop in Mrs. Hodgson's room, or you can get one at the meeting if you bring your money. Any members wearing green who attends the meeting will get an extra point!
Guidance Office
FROM THE CAREER CENTER: Representatives from UW-Platteville, UW-Parkside, UW-Madison, and Alverno College will be here next week. Sign up in the guidance office to meet with these college representatives.
Junior Prom Fundraiser
The sponsors of the Junior Class Post prom Committee will be selling Marcus Movie tickets all next week during the lunch hours. Please bring money to purchase tickets. They are $6.00 tickets with a few restrictions or $8.00 tickets with no restrictions.
Girl's Rugby
A new season of Girls rugby has started. Come play for the Brookfield bruisers. We practice Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at St. John on center street. from 4:30 to 6. we have an exciting season this year including the Mid-West Tournament. If you have any questions or need a ride to practice please contact Sara Morack, Talia Landwher, or Rachel Santuli.
Junior Class Council
PROM! Attention juniors: there will be a junior class council meeting on Tuesday after school in the cafeteria to discuss prom court voting, t-shirt designs and prom songs. All juniors are welcome to attend to discuss prom.
March Madness
Attention all students and staff:
In honor of March Madness, Thursday and Friday have been designated at college sweatshirt dress-up days. Wear your favorite college shirt regardless of if they are playing in the tourney or not. Once again, please wear your favorite college sweatshirt or t-shirt on Thursday and Friday. Sorry Mrs. Edington and Mrs. Bauer, we are banning all Ohio State gear once again this year.
NHS
There will NOT be a National Honors Society Meeting this week. Applications for exec board and the NHS scholarship can be found in Mrs. Zimmerman's room.
Guidance Offic
FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE: Attention 10th & 11th Grade students: The Brookfield Rotary Club is again providing a $600 scholarship for one BCHS student to attend the World Affairs Seminar at Carroll University this summer. The focus of the seminar this summer is the "Global Fresh Water Challenge". Interested students can get an application in the guidance office or see Mr. Meyer or Mrs. Aussem for additional information. The application deadline is March 19th.
Career Center
FROM THE CAREER CENTER: The Milwaukee Buck are inviting students to participate in the annual UWM Salute to Student Day on Sunday, March 28th. Greatly discounted tickets for the Bucks game that day are available and a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded by UWM at halftime. Pick up a flyer and ticket order form in the guidance office.
Bike Drive
Is your garage full of bikes that no one rides or don't work? If so, consider donating your used (working or not!) bikes to the Bike Drive at BCHS. Donated bikes will go to a company called Dream Bikes that will teach kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Milwaukee how to fix them, then sell them for a very low price to kids who can't afford new bikes. Collection day is Monday, March 29th at BCHS from 3:15-5:30. See Katie Shannon for details.
Prom Fundraiser
Students attending prom: On sale now are Wrist Cuffs for the girls for $30 and Boutonniere's for the guys for $15. They will be available for presale through March 31st. Profit will be going to the Post Prom Committee! Lots of colors and choices to choose from and the best part; orders will be delivered to school for pick up on Friday April 16th. See samples during all lunches starting Monday March 22nd – Friday March 26th! Your only job is to contact Jess Fleur Fun with your final color and floral selection once your order form is complete! Prom
Attention Juniors Prom is April 17th and tickets will go on sale during the lunch hours beginning March 22 thru the 26th. They are $150 a couple or $75 per person and they include Prom, dinner and Post-prom. When you purchase your tickets, please choose your dinner entree and t-shirt size. There is more information about Prom on the school website.
Post Prom Committee
The Post Prom Committee would like to request Strands of white Christmas lights, needing 100 in total, and greenery of all sizes, specifically large trees or plants and white or colored flood lights.
