Greetings Elmbrook Schools Parents!

The School District of Elmbrook is experiencing a budget shortfall of $16.1 million over the next five years.  The District is proactively working to develop solutions in order to sustain its excellent programs and services within fiscal constraints.

You are invited to attend one of several upcoming Listening & Feedback Sessions on Long-term Budget Solutions.  Items to be discussed at these sessions include the possibility of elementary school multi-age classrooms, a charter school, alternate middle and high school schedules, and distance learning. These are all being considered for possible implementation in 2011-12 and/or beyond.

Sessions are scheduled for:

  • Thursday, May 20: 7 p.m
  • Friday, May 21: 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m
  • Wednesday, May 26:  4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sessions will provide a brief overview of the district's financial planning process and recommendations that budget study teams have made on the above listed items.  Attendees will then have an opportunity to break out into two smaller group discussions:

  • Elementary: to discuss recommendations for future multi-age classrooms and a charter school
  • Secondary: to discuss recommendations for alternate middle and high school schedules and distance learning

For more information on these recommendations, as well as other information on the district's financial planning process, please visit www.elmbrookschools.org/financialplan.
